Top 5 Steps for Delivering Your Message Box & Securing a Meeting
Leave the Message Box unwrapped when walking into your prospect’s office - this increases the likelihood of others in the office taking notice of the cool gift and getting it to your prospect quickly.
Tell the receptionist you have a special gift delivery for Mr./Ms. Prospect and ask if they are in the office. NEVER say “I have some materials” or “collateral” to drop off. Making it seem like a sales call can decrease the effectiveness of the drop. Try to think of yourself as Edible Arrangements there to brighten someone’s day!
If you are unable to meet your prospect while delivering the Message Box, wait 1 business day, and then email them a photo of the Message Box (taken on your smart phone) like so:
Email Subject: Gift for You (Prospect’s first name)
Did you receive this gift I sent you? Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

After sending the email, send a LinkedIn connection request with this note, “Hi (Prospect’s name) - I hope you enjoy the gift I sent you - look forward to connecting!”
Follow up with a phone call 2 days after email and LinkedIn connection request; tell the receptionist you sent a gift to the prospect and would like to speak with them to see if he/she received the gift.
